New “What’s Your Problem?” Videos!

I’ve added a few new videos to our School Tube Channel.

Unfortunately, I can’t embed them right into this post without dishing out more dough to Edublogs.
Fortunately, I can give you a LINK TO OUR SCHOOL TUBE CHANNEL, where all the “What’s Your Problem?” videos have been posted.

If you haven’t made your video yet, and want to – hurry and do it this week. I will continue to post videos throughout the summer!

Congratulations!

We’re nearing the end of our Mozart Mystery project! I have several comments to sort through, so please double check that you followed the right direction and posted in the right place.

When you finish, I encourage your to play around in VoiceThread. Try the “Create” button and make your own! Teach us something about music, or share a “Friday Fact” style tid-bit. If you do this and tell me about it, you’ll receive today’s hidden paw.

Our Lyrical Lions Choir also deserve a big Congratulations. They’re concert last night was fantastic! I’m really proud of all your hard work.

Here’s a fun video about Mozart:

Here’s a fun way to get a paw:

According to the video, would Mozart have written more music if he had a computer to help him?

Frog and Toad, and Seussical!

Lafayette is buzzing with excitement about next week.

To celebrate Leap Day, the 1st grade is performing a musical called, “A Year with Frog and Toad,” based on the series of early reader books starring Frog and Toad. Parents, friends, and families are invited to watch their 1st graders perform at either 2:00 or 2:30 (see the flier that was sent home) on Wednesday, the 29th.

To celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss, the second graders will be performing Seussical the Musical Jr.! The performance for Mrs. Vicker’s class will be at 2:00 and Mrs. Peterson’s class at 2:30 on Thursday, March 1st. Rumor has it there may also be an encore performance so that other students have the opportunity to see.

HUGE thanks to the parents, staff, and students who helped with the set and props! I can’t wait!

What’s Your Problem? Back in Action!

Oh, what a back-log I have of  “What’s your problem?” videos! I promise to get more up soon. In the mean time, the first person to post a comment saying “Hi!” on the MOZART MYSTERY page gets a paw from me.

Mozart Madness

Woops, you didn’t read “March Madness” did you? Hey, it’s only January and this isn’t about basketball. No, we’re talking about the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Would you like to listen again to that Turkish March, Rondo alla Turca? Check out THIS LINK, and read a little more about Mozart. Don’t forget to click the “Hear the Music” link to actually hear the song!

What’s an Ostinato?

Looping is older than cassette tapes, and ostinato is for more than just xylophones. This week, we learned what an ostinato is, and how to compose our own!

Third Grade

“Go My Son” Native American Sign Language

Dear 3rd Graders,

Above is the link to the song and Sign Language we are learning for the performance on December 8th. Right now, it’s download only, but it’s safe! (December 8th is one of my VERY FAVORITE days, by the way. Can you guess why?)

Also, this site has cool videos:
